Book - Onsen Hot Pools

The ultimate way to top off a day of adrenaline or ease the muscles after a tough day skiing, biking, paddling or hiking than to sit back and take in views of Queenstown’s stunning scenery as you soak your body in an Onsen Hot Pool. This certainly is the pinnacle in relaxation and comfort in Queenstown.

The Onsen Hot Pools are all located in private rooms lined with rustic cedar and equipped with a shower as well as a changing area. Most importantly, each bathing room offers incredible views of the mountains of Queenstown. As you enjoy breathtaking views of Queenstown’s mountain landscapes and inhale the fresh, cool mountain air, your body will revel in the soothing warmth and relaxing massage of a soak in the pure waters of the private pools.

When you’ve settled in, press a button to retract the roof and the front wall so you can have unmediated views of the breathtaking alpine scenery. Embrace the magic of the night by dimming the lights and bathing by starlight. At the touch of a button, you can enclose the room once more.

Each room can take a maximum of four adults. Reservations include a complimentary drink and snack. Onsen Hot Pools offer the perfect retreat for individuals, couples and families.

Can I bring children into the Hot Pools?

Unfortunately as young children can easily become overheated and dehydrated so for health and safety reasons, Onsen Hot Pools do not allow children under 5 years to enter the hot pool rooms at any time. Children aged 5- 11 years are allowed in the pools between 9am and 4pm each day. After 5pm the pools are restricted to those 11 years and older. All children must be accompanied by a paying adult. Onsen Hot Pools are also unable to transport children who require a booster or car seat.

Where are the Onsen Hot Pools located?

The Onsen Hot Pools are located at 160 Arthurs Point Rd, Arthurs Point. Perched on the cliffs overlooking the Shotover River and amidst a stunning mountain range, this old gold miner's town is just 10 minutes from Queenstown or 13.5km from Arrowtown making it a convenient, tranquil escape from the more action packed, adrenaline filled activities and winery offerings in the region.

Where does the Onsen Hot Pools shuttle leave from?

The complimentary Onsen Hot Pools shuttle service (space available) departs from outside the Station Building, corner of Camp St & Shotover St, in central Queenstown - look out for the AJ Hackett Bungy store. Please wait on the brown bench seats outside and the driver will pick you up from there. The shuttle will pick you up 30 minutes before your Onsen reservation and it leaves promptly at half past the hour so please be punctual. The drivers will call you on mobile if they can't find you but due to schedule constraints, they are unable to wait if you are late. If you miss the shuttle, it is your responsibility to make you own way to Onsen Hot Pools. On return, the shuttle will leave Onsen Hot Pools 20 minutes after your booking ends and the driver will drop you back at The Station Building.
