Upon landing in Milford Sound you will join Mitre Peak Cruises, an exploratory nature-cruise on this famous fiord. View cascading waterfalls, towering rock faces, unique local wildlife and then voyage out past St Anne's Lighthouse to the Tasman Sea.

After your 2 hour cruise on Milford Sound you board the helicopter to continue your journey. Enjoy an exclusive alpine snow landing high in the the Southern Alps and get that once in a lifetime photo with your helicopter in the snow for the ultimate Fiordland National Park experience.

DEPARTURES:

Helicopter flights into Milford Sound operate from The Helicopter Line's Queenstown base, located at the Queenstown airport. Courtesy transfers from central Queenstown or accommodation.

WHAT TO BRING:

Warm Clothes, sunglasses, sturdy footwear and a camera are recommended.

Lunch is not included in this tour and cannot be purchased on the cruise or in Milford Sound. The helicopter line can pre-arrange lunches on request or you can take your own packed lunch or snacks with you on the tour.

CHILD AGE:

  • Infants up to 3 years and under 15kgs are Free of Charge (FOC) and are required to sit on an adults knee.
  • Children are?4 - 14 years or an infant weighing over 15kgs.
  • Children must be accompanied by a fare paying adult

LOCAL TIP #1

The Southern Alps are an incredibly wild and changing environment and the weather high in the mountains can be cool even in the summer time. Take a warm jacket, woolly hat and gloves to make sure you stay warm and can enjoy your alpine snow landing.

LOCAL TIP #2

Take some food with you. There is no where to purchase food in Milford Sound or on the scenic nature cruise. Before you leave Queenstown grab some snacks and pack your own picnic lunch to enjoy along the way.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE FLIGHT IS CANCELLED FOR WEATHER?

Should inclement weather prevent a flight at the booked location the booking can be re-scheduled for another time or the same prepaid voucher will be accepted at any of The Helicopter Line aviation bases around the South Island for a flight of similar duration and price. If neither of these options can be arranged and it was The Helicopter Line who cancelled operating the flight then a refund will be given.
