If you’re looking for a dining experience that’s unlike any other in Queenstown, head over to Colonel’s Homestead Restaurant at Walter Peak High Country Farm.

Steeped in Queenstown’s pioneering history, your experience starts with a scenic cruise across Lake Wakatipu in the 100+ year old steamship, the TSS Earnslaw. Then disembark at Walter Peak High Country Farm, one of the first farms set up in the Queenstown region.

Relax in the unique ambience of the Colonel’s Homestead Restaurant, the heart of the stately homestead at Walter Peak. Here, you’ll enjoy a Gourmet BBQ dinner which the chef will prepare in front of you. The new menu includes an expansive array of New Zealand and local produce, from succulent meats cooked on the outdoor rotisserie or grill to a selection of delicious vegetables and salads. Then finish your meal with our irresistible desserts, New Zealand cheeses and freshly brewed tea & coffee.

After dinner, an entertaining and informative farm demonstration gives you a glimpse of life in the high country.

On the magical night-time cruise home, you can enjoy the camaraderie of a sing-a-long with the ship’s pianist or breathe in the fresh night air on the moonlit decks as you watch the lights of Queenstown draw nearer.

BBQ Dinner Menu: Fresh breads baked daily onsite; antipasto selection; fresh salads including baby spinach salad, quinoa salad, beetroot salad and garden fresh green salads, herb crusted butternut squash, roast perla potatoes; seafood selection including smoked mackerel, homecured Stewart Island salmon and Cloudy Bay clams; an outdoor grill consisting of spiced chicken, slow roast pork, Cardrona lamb leg, Southland beef, sardines, market fish, all with a selection of condiments; dessert selection including crème brulée, white chocolate pannacotta, sticky date pudding,  chocolate mousse, apple and rhubarb crumble, fresh fruit, local cheeses and baked slices. Freshly brewed tea and coffee is included.
