Downhill Shuttles

Part of the fun of biking is riding new trails, scrubbing new burms and hucking new drops, so while in Queenstown don't forget to get out and about and see the broad range of trails the Wakatipu has to offer. Experience it all - steep, rocky, rooty, fast & flowy and do it all with a crew of like minded riders.

The Skyline Gondola and Queenstown Bike Park have plenty of trail options to keep you busy for a few days, but there are heaps of other freeride/downhill tracks close to Queenstown. Wynyard Express is just minutes ride from central Queenstown, while Rude Rock and Zoot Track is only a 15 minute drive. Or get out of town and explore Clyde/Linger & Die at just over an hours' drive.

With so much riding on offer the hard part is choosing where to go first!

QUEENSTOWN DOWNHILL SHUTTLES

CORONET PEAK: RUDE ROCK & ZOOT

Rude Rock- One word: Flow. Perfectly sculpted to follow the contours of the mountain, this trail starts just next to Greengates lift at Coronet Peak Ski Area flowing down towards Skippers Canyon access road.

Zoot Track- Such a fun track! This one has quite a mellow gradient, so its great for everyone, trail riders and those new to the downhill scene. But, for the more serious downhill riders, there are plenty of doubles and features off to the side, and this track is fast, real fast! A very easy shuttle, you can punch out a full lap in under 10 minutes and it's only a 15 minute drive from central Queenstown.

INCLUDES:

  • Transport from central Queenstown
  • Shuttles of Rude Rock and Zoot Tracks

DURATION: 3 hours

DEPARTS: 10AM & 2PM On Demand

DIFFICULTY: Intermediate

Please note a minimum of 4 riders is required to confirm departures.

QUEENSTOWN DH: WYNYARD & REMARKS

Wynyard Express DH- Right in the middle of Queenstown, on the opposite side of One Mile Creek to Queenstown Bike Park. This track is an old favourite with Queenstown locals. A couple of distinct sections, the first a series of big flowy berms, then a steep section dropping down into the Wynyard Mini Dream jump park (the Dream Track is a short push up the hill). The Wynyard track finishes with the 'Million Dollar Berms' and runs down to the One Mile car park. Another quick shuttle, if you ride top to bottom you'll beat the van, but only just!

Remarks DH- Two tracks run down next to each other, joining briefly around the half way mark. Both tracks have plenty of flow, heaps of playful features and enough challenges to keep the average DHer busy for a few hours. A word of warning, these tracks have been built to 'evolve' with usage, not much maintenance gets done out here, but that adds to the fun!

INCLUDES:

  • Transport from central Queenstown
  • Shuttles of Wynyard and Remarks DH Tracks

DURATION: 3 hours

DEPARTS: 10AM & 2PM On Demand

DIFFICULTY: Intermediate

Please note a minimum of 4 riders is required to confirm departures.

CLYDE - LINGER & DIE

An hours drive to Clyde, then a short shuttle up to the trails. Two options here: Linger & Die is a steep, off camber downhill with some pretty challenging terrain and the 'High Schools Track' has not quite as much elevation, but fun and flowy with some pretty cool lines.

On an average day with Queenstown Bike Taxis, you might do 3 Linger & Die shuttles and 6 or so of the other track. Generally a lot drier than Queenstown, so a good option if the local Queenstown tracks are a bit wet.

INCLUDES:

  • Return bike shuttles from Queenstown to Clyde

DURATION: 6 hours

DEPARTS: 10AM On Demand

DIFFICULTY: Advanced

Please note that a minimum of 4 riders is required to confirm departures.
