  • Kayak Classic trip 3 Hours
  • Kayak & Walk: 4 Hours

  • Kayak Classic trip:  Winter times: 9AM & 2PM [16 Mar - 15 Nov] Summer times: 9AM & 1PM [16 Nov - 15 Mar]
  • Kayak & Walk: 10:30AM year-round

WHAT TO BRING:

  • At least 2-3 warm layers for your top half. No jeans please. You’ll need to bring clothing suitable for the day. Wear pants you’ll be comfortable to sit in for a few hours, and shoes/boots/sandals – up to you. Your feet will stay dry. 
  • A snack, a water-bottle, camera (if you want your own photos as well as the FREE photos), sunglasses and sunscreen.

WHAT THEY PROVIDE:

  • All kayaking equipment needed for the day including  jackets, paddling gloves, dry bags and caps/beanies. & FREE photos!

AGE RESTRICTIONS:

  • Child price is 15 years and under.
  • There are no age restriction. If children fit their lifejackets, they can come along! The youngest explorer they’ve had to date was 1 year old. Feel free to contact us with any questions and remember that we can always help create a trip suitable for your families needs.

Includes: Transfers, 3 hours of kayaking & free photos!

Kayak & Walk [Departs Franz Josef Glacier Township]:
Includes: Transfers, 4 hours of kayaking and walking with free photos!

The mornings are the best time of the day for crystal clear water and the amazing reflections.

Insect repellant is always a good idea on the West Coast. Sandflies may only be small but they can pack a punch!

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations/date changes must be made a full 24 hours prior to the trip time. Cancellations made within the 24 hour time frame will incur a full trip charge so PLEASE let us know if you need to change or cancel your booking.

What if it’s raining?

Like true west coasters – we get out there rain or shine! Rain is the main ingredient in our beautiful temperate rainforest. Lake Mapourika often remains dry while it is raining in town due to being a greater distance from the Southern Alps

What should I wear?

They provide jackets, paddling ‘pogies’ (for your hands), dry bags and caps/beanies.

Will I get wet?

Except for the odd splash you probably won’t get wet. They provide all specialist equipment to keep you warm and dry. Swimming is an option during the warm summer months

Do you recommend booking in advance?

Forward bookings are recommended, especially during the busy summer season. We’d hate for you to miss out, please we’d encourage booking in advance to secure your kayaking tour.
